WEIGH IN: Today I weighed in 5.8 pounds over last week, landing at 277 pounds. All my progress to loose my second 5 pounds, gone in a blink of an eye. Or, in my case, eating a bag of (lightly salted!) tortilla chips as snacks and for dinner, plus indulging in cookies on two separate occasions. Now I must get disciplined all over again with myself and my diet. Luckily the tortilla chips are out of the house now (because I ate them all) and I can just focus on skipping dessert when I am eating out.
EXERCISE: I rode my bike consistently this week, but not every day. This morning I started early to clean Salvador (my car) before it got hot with Mom and Angela. Then I had a couple of doctor’s appointments and the window for working out just closed. Tomorrow will be much the same as I have a massage first thing in the morning, and I don’t want to work out beforehand. However, I’m going out to see 5/8 and SheHeHe at the 40 Watt tonight, and I fully intend to dance. That’s got to count for some calories. As long as I don’t eat any cookies while I am downtown.
DIET: The only way to loose weight is abstinence to the best of my ability. When I do that, I loose weight. And in so doing I may be carrying the message of abstinence to someone who needs to hear it. But I can’t carry the message and eat cookies and tortilla chips too!
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Food for Thought book is really good. I have been reading it most every day here lately and it’s helping. I have also been asking my Higher Power, who I choose to call Goddess, to help me with my diet and food, exercise and weight loss. Not posting here everyday about my weight loss journey has reduced my accountability, especially around food. But I know it will be too much once school starts to post every day, so now is the time to work out the kinks.
