EXERCISE: I rode Sally, my bike, for 10 minutes this morning! I burned 132.2 kcal and rode 2.3 miles. Then I cleaned, which is a workout in and of itself. I was listening to music with my earbuds in. I ended up dancing to a song by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Run. I worked up a sweat!
DIET: had a productive day in the kitchen today. I made a chocolate almond smoothie for breakfast and then cleaned up. I made a 3 bean salad with red onion and fresh parsley. And I started a glycerite. It’s my Sleep Potion. I used my coffee grinder to grind up valerium root, passionflower leaf, and lemon balm. The last two are from my garden. I recently organized my herb shelf in the pantry so everything was super easy to find and to get to. I added just over 1/4 cup ground herb of each herb. Then I put them in a mason jar and topped it off with vegetable glycerin. If I wasn’t an alcoholic I would use alcohol and make a tincture. I just started the second to last bottle of Sleep Potion so I hope I have enough time for this to steep without running out. The valerium is the strongest herb, and promotes sleep and soothes the nerves. The lemon balm is a nervine and also soothes the nerves. Passionflower promotes sleep and good dreams. I have found that in practice, taken with my night meds, it increases the effects of my night meds and speeds them up.
For lunch I had a burrito stuffed with black beans, onions, and spinach and topped with non dairy cheddar cheese and salsa. Dinner was a salad from yesterday with caesar dressing and the 3 bean salad. I ate an orange for dessert. I may snack before bed as my stomach feels growly.
